In commemoration of his election as Pope and in conjunction with holy cards being issued for the two newly canonized popes, this holy card is issued of Pope Francis I. The card shows Pope Francis on the balcony at the Vatican shortly after he was elected. A medal is included with the card and the medal with the Pope Francis card is of St. Francis of Assisi whom Pope Francis so greatly admires. Pope Francis, the first pope from South America, has become known for his kindness and humbleness and those qualities are reflected in the image on the card and in his admiration for St. Francis of Assisi whose medal is included with the card. The card will be a good book mark to use in a prayer book or bible as the reader and user are reminded of the wonderful qualities that we have seen in the new Pope. The medal could be attached to a chain and worn as a pendant or attached to a ribbon and also used as a book mark. The Pope Francis medal and/or can also easily be carried in a pocket, wallet or purse. Many people look for examples of good persons to meditate on and both Pope Francis I and St. Francis of Assisi give excellent examples of humbleness and respect for others and all creatures so both are good examples for meditation.
